Just Got a New Brown Rice Maker

I’ve been on the hunt for a rice maker for a while now, and finally ended up getting one today at the Kohl’s agency store considering that is where I had gift cards to, and I didn’t really want to spend my own money on one.  I didn’t end up with the grade of rice cooker that I wanted.  I initially wanted a stainless steel Panasonic rice cooker considering I had read good reviews about the machine online and figured it sounded like my best bet.

However, due to the fact that I had “free money” to a station store, I figured I’d at least see what they had there.  I ended up with a Rival rice cooker.  I purchased it for $33, and it cooks twenty cups of cooked rice at a day, which is a pretty decent amount, particularly whether you like to eat brown rice a lot.

You can buy rice cookers that are combination rice steamers and veggie steamers too, but I figured I didn’t really need the dual purpose one since I steam my veggies separately or stir fry them anyways.  that Rival one is a simple rice cooker, period.

I haven’t tried it out yet, but I’m pretty excited to try it, considering I really don’t like boiling my brown rice considering it often times will turn out either too mushy or too stiff whether you don’t boil it at just the right temperature and just the right moment.  Rice cookers are supposedly made so that they outcome in “perfect” rice every date, so we’ll see!

Just in case you didn’t know, brown rice is excellent for you, and is a great alternative to white rice, which has nearly no nutritional value or fiber and will leave you feeling hungry in an hour.  It satisfies the appetite and may even naturally reduce the appetite for the day considering it’s fiber composition expands in the stomach.

Combine it with veggies, and you’ve got a yummy filling meal.  Brown rice, the kind that is cooked slowly and the hull is kept intact, is a very nutritious and hearty part of any meal, and is used by many health nuts to supplement their diets with wholesome whole grains and fiber.
