Ekaya, Inc. Launches Obesity Bootcamp Online

Ekaya, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization is giving away free membership to its Obesity Bootcamp, an online email support system to help people who are serious about changing their lifestyles. Anyone can sign up online for Obesity Bootcamp and receive an email with tough talk, gentle support, and sensible advice on a daily basis.

Founder Johanna Garrick has taken 10 years to gain victory in her own battle with obesity and shares her insights and methods with others through her Obesity Bootcamp. Her method balances a straight forward, down-to-earth and tough approach while also being gentle, nurturing and supportive. “I’ve experienced the pain of being overweight and the immense challenge of conquering it and I just want in some small way to help others who are struggling with this”. Garrick treats junk-food eating as an addiction and provides guidelines for living junk-food free. Her daily emails include motivation to exercise, healthy menu plans, tips for dealing with emotional eating, advice on how to talk nicely to yourself, and lessons in how to identify junk foods and healthy foods.
