Drink and drugs fuel Scottish suicide and murder rates
Alcohol and drug misuse mean Scots are nearly twice as likely to kill or take their own life in comparison to citizens living in England and Wales, research published recently (Monday, June 16) reveals. The findings by The University of Manchester’s National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and murder by citizens with Mental Illness (NCI) plus show that the number of mental health patients committing murder or suicide was proportionately much higher in Scotland……..
