What is the “Lemonade Diet”?
You may have heard the term “lemonade diet” tossed around with a bit of frequency by that past year. I’ve often heard it paired with celebrity names, and touted as a very fast weight loss trick whether you want to lose a lot of weight, in a very short period of moment. Of course, you know that with any diet that promises fast weight loss, you are going to be giving up quite a bit for losing that weight so quickly, but studies recently have shown that contrary to popular belief that weight lost very quickly comes back on, and more so, public who lose weight rapidly are actually statistically more likely to keep it off for a longer period of moment.
That finding really blew some commonly, dearly held myths out of the water. I myself even though that weight that was lost dramatically and quickly would nearly always surely come back on, but I think it depends on the situation, and what the events were that surrounded the quick weight loss as well.
The lemonade diet is actually a little different depending on where you look. You can actually purchase kits for the lemonade diet, which manufacture it much easier to stick with and come up with a routine to actually form certain you’re doing it right, or there is a recipe (actually a couple of them) you can find online that involve some organic, often hard to find ingredients that you have to mix up every day on your own.
The lemonade diet, at least the original one, was a phase of the “Master Cleanse” diet, which included imbibing tons of that liquid concoction that was made up of things like cayenne pepper, lemon juice, and organic maple syrup. that is the one that is so controversial, considering you literally only consume that one drink for several days on end. You may have read about Beyonce’s experience with that diet to lose weight fast for her role in Dream Girls. She says that she lost a lot of weight, and very quickly, but she says she additionally put it right back on.
A lot of citizens want to lose weight quickly, but there is definitely a price to pay to get there. You either have to cut back on calories dramatically and increase your exercise (which is very hard, considering your energy levels are lower and it’s firm to exercise), or you have to go on some sort of more radical diet like the cleanse or the lemonade diet and you should see results as well.

Calorie and Nutrition Info on Menus, Good or poor?
I have to confess, I have mixed feelings about how a lot of restaurants, both sit down and fast food joints, are putting a lot of nutrition data in readily accessible, or impossible to miss places either on their menus or right up on their menu boards for fast food places. Of course, I’m an American who tends to form healthier choices the majority of the day that I eat. When I do go on a pig out spree though, I kind of feel like for me personally, ignorance is bliss.
Is that really just reinforcing the fact that nutrition info on menu items is great? After all, I just said that I wouldn’t feel poor or guilty about eating food products that I know darn well I shouldn’t be putting in my mouth whether I could “plead ignorance” as to the amount of calories, fat and salt the food contains. So, by putting that stuff in a can’t miss place, wouldn’t you in essence be forcing society to at least consider what they’re doing to their bodies?
Well, yes, and that’s kind of the whole point of the exercise. And I get that. But do you really think that that is going to assemble society who aren’t health conscious to start with care about what they are putting into their bodies? Or are they going to continue to form those poor choices, even when the knowledge is staring them right in the face, quite literally, that they are just making themselves heavier and heavier and more and more unhealthy?
This is a hard subject to debate considering it touches on the freedom to choose aspect of our lives as Americans. It sort of goes hand in hand with other government agendas that have to do with our diet, like limiting the amount of salt restaurants can put in their food, or mandating that citizens who weigh a positive amount go on undoubtful programs for public health insurance (yes, that has been discussed as well).
I’m not certain that I agree with it, but I do understand we need to do something. After all, we can’t be living as unhealthily as we have been, but folks should have freedom of choice to put whatever they want to in their mouth at the moment.

Are Juice Fasts Safer Than Water Fasting?
If you’ve ever considered doing a fast for your health and even for your weight loss goals, soon after you may want to understand the potential dangers of doing a simple water fast before you go into it blindly. Many society choose to do a water fast, thinking that it is the quickest way to get healthy again considering they aren’t taking any scheme of nutrients in, and they aren’t taxing the body with any digestion demands as they would be in a juice type fast.
Well, actually, you may be doing more harm than good whether you choose to do that type of fast where there are no natural sugars or nutrients being filtered into your body. The reason is, fasting in that manner is actually hugely taxing on your body.
You are essentially running on empty. Yes, you are training your body on how to suppress hunger, but at the cost of potentially setting a slower metabolism for the future. Your body needs calories, nutrients and carbohydrates to run as fuel, and without them, your body goes through a pretty wicked transitional phase that can feel close to torture.
When you fast on freshly juiced vegetable and fruit juice, they supply you not only with the nutrients and vitamins you need, but they additionally supply much needed energy to get you and your brain through the taxing day. additionally, that sort of fasting is super easy on the digestive system, so you need not nag that you aren’t truly cleansing considering you are taking in “food” of some sort. Juice fasts are actually deeply cleansing and favourable, without the dangers and terrible discomfort of a water only fast.
All those natural enzymes and live nutrients are scrubbing and cleansing the digestive tract, probably way better than water would anyways. Freshly sqeezed and purreed fruits and veggies plus help move things along, so whether you have any old waste, that gets shoved through the elimination tract.
Plus, when you water fast only, you are risking having a toxic overload, considering the toxins in the body are actually eliminated too quickly, burdening the system, and creating very unpleasant side effects for you such as nausea, foggy thinking and a generally horrible demeanor since you have no nutrients or fuel in you system and your blood sugar is all out of whack. I personally think that a juice fast is the way to go, no water fasts for me!

Naked Smoothies supply a Quick Pick Me Up
I’ve recently become a huge fan of Naked fruit smoothies. You can find them in a lot of natural foods stores and plus they are carried, I’ve found, in quite a few chain grocery stores as well. They can be a bit pricey, but I’ve found that they go on sale quite often at the natural foods stores I frequent (actually the grocery store rarely has all flavors on sale, go figure), for 2 for five bucks (Whole Foods has had that sale a few times), so that’s not poor at all when you consider the high price of nutritionless sodas and “juice drinks”.
There is another grade too that has a similar concept, Odwalla, but I’ve foudn the Naked ones to have more flavors that I personally like – just a personal preference, nothing against Odwalla.
If you are a person who watched their calories, or even more so their carb intake, you may look at the back of one of these smoothies and think it’s really high in both. However, I’ve found that just a few swigs is a great tide by to dinner and lunch when you’re just starting to get hungry and need a quick natural blood sugar pick up.
I have never drank a whole one at one sitting, I’ve found them more favourable when you keep them around for a little “snack” in amidst meals. My two favorite blends are the Green Machine, which contains everything from apples, to broccoli, to spirulina for an even great energy boost. And it tastes nothing like vegetables, and yet it’s got them in it. That one is probably my all duration favorite, plus there are tons of good nutritious ingredients in it.
The runner up for me is the mango flavor with favourable probiotics added, for digestion and waste elimination efficiency. It helps you to be regular, since mango is filled with fiber, and plus helps replenish your healthy intestinal flora that keeps things moving in that regard, whether you know what I mean.
When I’m buying the smoothies, I try to really look at what’s in them, including their “boosts” and see whether those vitamins and nutrients are something that I might be lost in or not. that way, I know I’m getting the right benefits from drinking them, in addition to the benefits I’m getting from drinking something that helps tide my appetite by for big meals.
