Michael Phelps Eats 12,000/Day When Training!
Well, that came as a shock, seeing how record breaking Olympian Michael Phelps has one of the most ripped and fat free midsections I’ve ever seen in my life, but apparently when he is training, he takes in about 12,000 calories a day. That’s nearly 10,000 more calories per day than is recommended for men of normal size. Of course, that is, men that aren’t in intensive Olympic training nearly all day.
Swimming is notoriously one of the best calorie burning exercises though, so it doesn’t come as a shock that as a frequent swimmer, Mr. Phelps needs the constant energy supplied by his high carb, high fat diet, and he burns it right off as fast as he eats it.
I’m not certain what the physiological reason is that swimming has for being one of the highest calorie burning exercises, but I can remember swimming in the lake or in the pool for HOURS as a kid, and being completely famished afterwards, nearly like you just couldn’t stuff abundant food in your face fast decent, so frolicking in the water must be one of the most body stressing exercises that is known. It additionally is precisely the opposite of natural appetite suppressant, instead fueling a ridiculously huge appetite from all the expenditure that is happening.
Phelps eats huge helpings of things like fried egg sandwiches, breads, and protein, none of them in the low fat category either. I’m just wondering how, with all these high carb and high fat choices, he does keep his energy up, considering we’ve always been told in the past that these are the types of foods that actually form us more tired when it’s all said and done.
He may plus be on a ton of supplements or there may be considerations to his diet that we wouldn’t even think of, such as how it may affect his buoyancy, or perhaps how it will affect his aerodynamics or speed when he is competing, that they have additionally factored into knowing he can handle the high calorie diet.
I wonder whether other Olympians are on that high of a calorie, high carb diet, or whether that is just for the swimmers since their’s is one of the most strenuous and calorie consuming sports of all the Olympics.

OYSTERS - good for the sex drive and a relief from arthritis!
August 26, 2004 — We have all heard that oysters can boost the libido and make champions of the bedroom, but the less heard story is one of greater importance to those suffering from arthritis. Of the many shellfish that also include crabs, lobsters, clams and shrimp, oysters shells are a rich source of glucosamine sulphate. Having been around for almost 500 million years, and possibly one of the first inhabitants of earth, these shellfish have indeed survived the wear and tear of time. They have brought us many natural health benefits and now also a relief from the pain of arthritis in the form of glucosamine sulphate.
Over 15 percent of the population has long-term health problems due to the various forms of arthritis, according to the Arthritis Research Campaign. These problems affect more than 1 in 7 adults and thousands of children in the UK. The most common forms of arthritis are; rheumatoid arthritis, a disease that makes the joints of the body become inflamed and osteoarthritis caused by weak cartilage that fails to withstand the constant pressure put upon the joints. Arthritis can start at any age, from children to those in there 90’s. The most common age is between 30 and 50 and women are affected more often than men.
In a survey of 2,146 primary care physicians and rheumatologists and 790 arthritis patients, the magazine - Arthritis Today - reported that 34 percent of people with the disease rated glucosamine as their favourite alternative to over-the-counter pain medications. Doctors ranked it higher, with 45 percent picking glucosamine as their favourite.
Glucosamine is an amino acid sugar usually formed in humans from glucose and is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies. The highest concentration is in the joints and its main function is to stimulate the growth of cartilage and prevent cartilage destruction, joint swelling and loss of flexibility.
Glucosamine comes in several forms, the most common being Glucosamine Sulphate. An artificially synthesized salt of glucosamine, made from oyster or crab shells. It is usually combined with other products such as; Vitamin C, added to help maintain cell and tissue integrity, and Chondroitin which is made up of chains of Glucosamine with attached sugar molecules. These additional ingredients enhance the overall process that help with joint mobility and aid in the correct functioning of the joint fluids and connective tissues.
Glucosamine is not only popular with arthritis sufferers; it also helps athletes and anyone with an active lifestyle. When joints in the body are pushed to the edge of endurance, the cartilage is worn away faster than it can replenish itself.

Chronic stress alters our genetic immune response
Most society would agree that stress increases your risk for illness and that is particularly true for severe long-term stresses, such as caring for a family member with a chronic medical illness. However, we still have a relatively limited understanding of precisely how stress contributes to the risk for illness. In the August 15th issue of Biological Psychiatry, scientists shed new light on one link within stress and illness by describing a mechanism through which stress alters immune operate……..

Genetic predisposition may play a role in anxiety disorders
Finnish researchers have identified genes that may predispose to anxiety disorders. Research conducted under the supervision of Academy Research Fellow Iiris Hovatta have focused on genes that influence human behaviour, and some of the studied genes show a statistical organization with specific anxiety disorders. The work is carried out as part of the Academy of Finland Research Programme on Neuroscience (NEURO)……..

The Most Important Step in Weight Loss
Here is the first and most important step in weight loss
Before taking any physical steps in your efforts to lose weight, begin by taking a mental approach.
The first step to achieving physical success is to accept complete responsibility for where you are, right now.
Outside of extreme medical conditions, your current weight has happened by your choice. You cannot and should not blame anyone at all for where you are right now.
If you’re currently overweight, it’s because you created it.
Tired of the way you look when you look into the mirror?
You are responsible.
Just plain sick and tired of being sick and tired?
You are where you are right now due to the choices you’ve made.
A large part of being a fully mature adult is accepting full responsibility for where you are right now and what has happened to you in life up to this point.
Then and only then can you begin the action steps to clearly change your situation.
You see, if you’re blaming your current weight on everything but yourself, that’s what you’re going to keep telling yourself internally to the point that you truly believe that you’re not at fault for your weight.
If you truly feel you’re not at fault for your current weight, do you really think you’re going to get real with yourself and take the necessary steps to lose weight and stay thin?
Of course not, you’re going to continue blaming McDonald’s or Pizza Hut and you’ll just continue on in your never-ending search for weight loss success.
On the other hand, by accepting complete and full responsibility for your being overweight, you can start the necessary preparations of figuring out why it’s occurring and you can take action to change it.
The fact is, by claiming ownership, you also realize that it’s you and only you that will be the one who gets you to take action and change what you want changed.
The buck stops with you. No one forced you to eat more than you should have.
Stop blaming and start accepting.
Once you do, you’re in the driver’s seat and you can now go as fast as you want to achieving your goal.
It really does amaze me how people tend to pass responsibility for their current situations to someone or something else.
Have you ever said or heard any of the following:
I cannot seem to find a job. There must be no jobs available for me, the goods ones have must have been taken by other people.
You can turn this negative into a positive by saying:
I’m in control of my destiny and my life and as long as there are people, there will be jobs. I must not be looking hard enough. I’ll send out 20 more resumes each day and make 10 more phone calls.
How about this one:
I’m fat because of the food my family eats. My spouse and kids only want to eat pizza and burgers for dinner and it’s causing me to be fat.
You can turn this around by saying:
Since I’m the one providing for my family, I want them to receive good, wholesome foods for dinner. I think I’ll buy a low fat cookbook and really learn to add some variety and spices to our low fat food. I’m not going to sacrifice my own happiness and health for others.
So, instead of blaming your current situation on uncontrollable outside forces, realize that there’s little in your life that you were not the cause of by making certain choices.
Once you realize that you are the captain, and only captain, of the boat called your life, you can steer it in any direction that you want to.
Its up to you and only you.

Interpretation of the Degenerative Phenomena
In our investigation, we have been able to conclude, that the phenomena of health deterioration is the result of a chronic and persistent deficiency of an optimal diet, and that this lack of essential factors make the cell function inefficiently.
The cell, the primordial element of living organisms, is the smallest portion of living matter, which contains all the attributes that determine the living: birth, reproduction and death, as well as it constitutes the building blocks of tissues and organs. Their internal structure is a true miracle of the creation of the universe, and its comprehension, though extraordinary advances in science, have not been able to decipher its nature in its totality. The internal organization of a cell remains under the control of the different transformations that produce the combinations and interchanges of the various organic molecules that make them up. The transformations have a particular specific nature, which make them occur in different compartments of the cell at different time intervals, and thus give rise to the cellular structure. All the chemical transformations produced are of extreme complexity, and are regulated by the extraordinary specificity of covalent bonding. This entire complicated act is carried out only by 45 essential factors, which give rise to proteins and enzymes that make up the albuminous phase of the cell, where physical and chemical changes take place. All these changes, which are based upon the laws of thermodynamics, and gradients of transformation both negentropic and entropic, work in perfect harmony and under the regulation of molecules of DNA; the basis for genetics. Under these circumstances, the cell has extraordinary properties in its functioning, and among the most important is the ability it has to defend itself against the various diseases. This property is manifested through the large memory accumulated in the genetic code, throughout the millions of years of evolution and further modified by genetic adaptations. These new modifications allow for the better, faster and stronger defense against the various infecting agents, both internal as well as external, that are constantly trying to neutralize normal cell functioning.
It is simple to understand that we have defended well, and our mere presence today is the proof that we are survivors, against the struggle we had to overcome in order to attain biological strength. Thus, our species is a triumphant one. However, we should not feel all too proud to think we are super-living-entities, or that thanks to all the attributes mentioned above we should be always free from disease. In truth, our daily living offers proof contrary to what we may think; our specie is indeed sick and in most of the cases, we die prematurely, either from infectious problems, or degenerative, involutive or proliferative disorders. In one phrase, dying from progressive exhaustion of our genetic program does not exist.
Our Species Eats Poorly
In our investigation, we have been able to conclude, that the phenomena of health deterioration is the result of a chronic and persistent deficiency of an optimal diet, and that this lack of essential factors make the cell function inefficiently. Thus, halting the development of enough defensive potential, as well as regenerative power, needed to prolong life.
Alen and Eveliza
Are both compounds formed by nutritious substances, which are of special qualities, in view that they contain an elevated concentration of essential factors in their natural state of singular aggregation; giving these products a higher biological power than that found in the nutrients in our daily and regular diets. From an esterochemical point of view, food molecules are found as isomers, which quirality is unstable and thus, they must denature through physical and chemical actions. These actions are what we use in the preparation of our foods, acts that most likely destroy 80% of the nutritious power of our meals. This occurs because we transform these nutritious molecules into chemical compounds that cannot be recognized by our enzymes and thus, end up having no nutritious value.
The Tragedy of Humanity
Our species does indeed eat poorly, and no one in this world has a perfect diet; this tragedy began approximately 700,000 years ago, when we freed ourselves from being scavengers and discovered fire. The action of fire over food makes it more digestible by diminishing the size of the molecules, however, without noticing, it also helped destroy the chemical arrangements of organic compounds, which were of immense value to the repairing capabilities of our food. The changes produced by the use of fire, make nutrients unrecognizable, to our enzymes, this phenomenon although simple, encloses the key to our good health and longevity, and we should take it seriously if we want to be able to explain and understand the processes of health and sickness. On the other hand, the amount of nutrients that we ingest daily are scant, to understand this better let us follow this reasoning; assume that a person eats 500 grams of food, this food comes from organic material and thus contains 70% of water, which subtracted from the original amount leaves us with 150 grams of solid food. Of these 150 grams 60% is made up of fats and sugars, thus leaving 60 grams of solid food. However, these 60 grams must be cooked, in order to diminish the size of the molecules and make them more digestible, of course, in this operation we also destroy the quirality or chemical constitution of essential factors, degrading an 80%, a percentage which subtracted from the 60 grams leaves us with only 12 grams of nutritious molecules. This last amount from any point of view, is a ridiculous quantity of reconstructive material for our tissues. The previous reasoning is of great transcendence for the interpretation of the degenerative phenomenon that our specie experiences prematurely, and which final corollary is diseases and premature aging.

New Website Promises Consumers Ad-Free, Side-By-Side Comparison of Vitamins Never Before Seen on Internet
Virginia Beach, VA September 14, 2004 — After watching consumers scratch their heads in confusion while trying to figure out which vitamins and supplements they should take - if any - vitamin industry expert Sam Knoll swung into action. Six months and thousands of dollars later, Knoll is launching MyVitaminGuide.com, a comprehensive new website offering consumers information about vitamins, herbs and homeopathic remedies.
The website features - for the first time ever on the Internet - a database containing the most extensive information ever assembled on competing vitamin brands, offering consumers a direct comparison of well-known brand names and private label “house brands.”
“The objective of MyVitaminGuide.com is to provide unbiased and very comprehensive information on vitamins, herbs and health conditions. Members of MyVitaminGuide.com will find the side-by-side comparisons in our Brands Database very helpful before they buy their vitamins, and they can use our EZ Cost Calculator to figure out how much they’re really spending on a day-to-day basis,” says Knoll, President of Healthex Corporation, the owner of MyVitaminGuide.com.
The website?s Brands Database will provide information on vitamins carried by major retail chains such as General Nutrition Center, Vitamin Shoppe, Walgreen, Whole Foods Market, and independent health food stores. Consumers will be able to compare the kind of supplement, type of pill (for example, capsule or tablet), package size, suggested retail price, recommended usage, and resulting cost per day.
In addition to its Brands Database and cost calculator, MyVitaminGuide.com offers weekly and monthly newsletters written by medical professionals, a searchable database of information about vitamins, herbal and homeopathic remedies, “health concerns” such as heart disease and diabetes, a recipe database, and a “Safetychecker” that identifies potential interactions between dietary supplements, common prescriptions and over-the-counter drugs.
To maintain its independent and unbiased status, MyVitaminGuide.com will be supported by its members and does not accept any outside advertising, nor does it sell vitamins or other supplements. The website is found at www.MyVitaminGuide.com on the Internet.
