God Is Real and Recovery is of God.

Genesis 1:29 and 30

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every living thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat; and it was so.

John Eddie”JJ”Jones SVP PacificRimDGroup sharing about his family.

My late Mother Mrs. Louella Tidwell Jones lived another 33 years from 1967 until June 29, 2000 after her diagnosis with Type 2 Diabetes, without ever having to take a shot of insulin or take any other type of medication.

My Dad’s Grandmother Mrs. Mattie Hearns Jones, a full-blooded Chickasaw Indian, told my mother of an Indian remedy for the “Sugar” as she called it. Simply brew some “Cherry” leaf, bark or limb tea and drink it instead of or in addition to drinking Lipton Teas. The Cherry fruit is very sweet, but the brew from the “Cherry” leaf, bark or limb is very bitter. Drink it hot and as the tea circulates through your blood stream, the opposites of sweet and bitter attracts and empties out of your body as a bodily waste fluid.

My eighty-five year old God-Mother is recovering from a high blood pressure induced stroke in 1996. From drinking her “Cherry” tea each day, her blood sugar level maintains within 90-140, and the swelling in her ankles is totally gone relieving the fear of possible feet amputations. After a total blood work-up, her doctor has reduced her insulin intake to as needed, instead of automatically twice daily.

Anyway, my Mother’s home in Memphis, Tennessee had 3 Cherry trees on the property, so we never threw away any of the leaves. We simply bagged them and saved them until she brewed them into Cherry Tea. But today, there is a Gourmet Cherry Tea from Lindsay Gardens Fine Teas, located at 297-101 Kinderkamack Road #178, Oradell, New Jersey 07649.

Fat Cells in Control - The Leptin Hormone Link

August 21, 2004 — In light of the widely acknowledged obesity epidemic facing America, major media has attempted to cover the story and provide insight into possible solutions for this problem. So far they have simply documented that fat cells are winning, people are confused, and America is becoming super-sized. Advertisers and sellers of junk food are not confused; they know exactly how to get humans addicted to food and twist fat cells to force humans to spend money at their establishments, even though people know it isn?t good for them.

June 2-4, 2004 TIME magazine and ABC News sponsored a national Obesity Summit. Additionally, TIME dedicated their cover story to the obesity issue. Even though their reporters had spent months collecting information from different sources, the article written as their feature story contained almost no useful information that would help someone solve being overweight. It did not even begin to scratch the surface of the meaning of readily available recent scientific discoveries. All it did was point out that our evolving genetics are not prepared for eating all the time and sitting on a couch. Not exactly an earth shaking revelation.

On August 27th NEWSWEEK jumped into the obesity article frenzy, offering a much more informative article outlining the discovery of leptin and how it is involved in obesity. The article concludes by quoting a researcher as saying the best way to lose weight is to not fight the basic biology of the fat cell. This I agree with 100%. The problem with the article is that it did not give one tip on actually how to do this. Instead the article lamented on the fact that eating less and exercising more isn?t going to make it as the only solution to this problem, as well as the fact that no drugs to date actually solve the leptin issue (and none are likely in the foreseeable future). Even though these authors were apparently interviewing a variety of obesity researchers, they were unable to come up with any specific helpful tip about how to use this information to lose weight.

As a long-time practicing Clinical Nutritionist, lecturer, researcher and author, I am the leading expert in the country in terms of providing dietary guidelines to overcome problems with leptin. I have worked hands on with thousands of individuals to resolve this issue. There are solutions currently available that will work for the great majority who implement them.

In December of 2002, after several years of intensive research, I published the necessary dietary guidelines to not upset the basic biology of the fat cell. The book, Mastering Leptin, was the first writing to distill over 5000 scientific studies on the subject into meaningful and simple dietary guidelines. The Second Edition of Mastering Leptin has now been released, catching up on the 3000 leptin studies released in the last year and a half, fine tuning the diet principles, and explaining the breakthroughs on cardiovascular health that can revolutionize the prevention and treatment of heart-related issues.

Leptin issues go far beyond the obesity issue. Leptin problems are now documented as the number one cause of heart disease, for a variety of reasons. Several weeks ago, for the first time documented in rats, the ability to synthesize leptin and to receive leptin messages was documented for muscle cells that comprise the very structure of the heart! This information is of overwhelming significance to both obesity and heart disease.

Leptin is the energy broker in the human body. The heart is an energy intense organ, never getting a chance to take a break. The heart needs to have a good way to keep energy production going, even if overall energy levels are declining. Is it any wonder heart cells can make their own leptin? Is it any wonder heart cells receive leptin messages to help gauge the energy needs of the body? We are on the edge of the most exciting scientific breakthroughs ever.

There are five simple dietary guidelines for mastering/balancing the hormone leptin in the body as explained in my book. These simple rules are backed by overwhelming science. People must learn to follow them or they will be at odds with the basic biology of fat cells. All the scientific evidence is fully explained in Mastering Leptin and has been available to the public since December of 2002.

Our Surgeon General is now calling fat ?the enemy within? and more dangerous than a terrorist threat. Not only is the general public confused, those writing about the issue are also in the dark. There is no need for general public ignorance.

The first thing to know about fat cells is that they are not a blob of inert fuel sitting in storage. They are smart ? very smart. If humans are going to be smarter than fat cells they need to understand the operational guidelines fat cells use. This is why I spent several years of my life writing the manual ? it is there to read for anyone who is interested. Mastering Leptin is the first writing to explain the meaning of over 8,000 studies on the hormone leptin, translating highly complex science into simple English and distilling the information into very simple eating guidelines that almost anyone can follow.

Is Weight Loss Your Resolution For The New Year?

Tomorrow we start writing 2008. I don’t know where the instance has gone. I just got use to writing 2007. With the New Year comes resolutions…things such as: weight loss, eating healthy, exercising, saving money, spending more date with loved ones, or just spending more date pampering yourself.

I think very often society build the same resolutions they made the previous year. Weight loss is a big one. The number of obese/overweight society in the world is still on the rise. It only makes sense more folks are going to form resolutions to get those additional pounds off.

For those that have tried and have had little or know success, take a look a what you have tried in the past. You know what hasn’t worked. Try something new. Four things I feel that will assemble a weight loss journey successful is:
1. Document what you eat/drink and the moment. You may be a “clock” eater.
You may be a “tv” eater. (EX: A convinced day or show comes on and it
triggers you to eat.)
2. Increase your water intake. Drink 8/10 glasses of water per
day. (It helps to flush your system and gives you a full
feeling.)
3. Set short and enlarged term goals for yourself. (EX: Start by
walking 15 minutes a day and increase it to two 15 minute
walks per day.)
4. Have a good support system. (EX: Include family, friends,
weight loss enthusiasts, and other weight loss bloggers.)
Many will join you on your journey…good healthy competion
is always a good motivator.

Whether you have 10 pounds or a 100 pounds to lose, incorporate these four things into your program and you will be successful. Remember, a healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week.

Sodium’s Influence on Diet

Gosh, I’d have to say that besides sugar and fat, salt is definitely one of my downfalls when it comes to my diet.  Even when I’m watching the sugars and the fats in my diet, I tend to salt my food more and use saltier seasonings to manufacture up for the flavor I feel is lost considering I can’t use a lot of the “other poor stuff” in my food or recipes.  Salt is really tasty, let’s face it.  That’s why fast food tastes so good - it’s sodium composition is usually out of control!

High sodium usually leads to high blood pressure which, among other things, can lead to increased risk of stroke, heart disease, and kidney disease and failure.  It can additionally construct you retain lots of water, and that doesn’t form for a pretty sight - ladies can side with me on that one, since our hormones often build us retain a lot of water and seemingly gain weight overnight sometimes.  Water weight and water retention are one of the reasons that citizens with heart problems are often prescribed water pills that invent them get rid of excess water retention.

So, what can excess sodium do to your diet and your body, respectively, and how can you better control the sodium intake in your diet to achieve greater health, and hopefully better blood pressure?

Well, we do need SOME sodium in our diet.  It is fundamental to nerve operate, and undoubtful systems would shut down without that urgent mineral believe it or not.  However, studies have been done that show most Americans consume more than three times the recommended daily allowance of sodium (salt) in their diet.

First of all, don’t salt your food, particularly whether the food has already been cooked with some salt or has been cooked with seasonings that contain sodium.  Or, of course whether the food you are eating has a lot of naturally occurring sodium, thereupon please do not salt your food.  that may seem really hard to do at first, believe me, whether I had high blood pressure, I would greatly miss salting my food.  However, humans I know who have stopped salting their food say that they actually grow accustomed to it without additional salt, and prefer it that way.

Read the sodium subject matter on all of your food before you buy it in the store.  whether there is an option, particularly in canned veggies, manufacture certain you buy the low sodium option instead of the regular canned veggies.  At fast food places, nearly always opt for the burger without cheese and many condiments, as that is where much of the sodium comes in.  A salad at these places is the ideal choice actually, but whether you have to, just take the cheese off and hold most condiments whether possible.

white-hots approved by Feingold Program

Rochester, New York July, 2003 ? white-hots, inc. (www.white-hots.com) announces that the Feingold Association of the United States (www.feingold.org) has informed the Company that Zweigle?s delicious, sodium nitrate additive-free white hotdogs have been approved for use on the Feingold Program diet and will be featured in the Feingold Foodlist and Shopping Guide.

The Feingold Program was developed by the Kaiser-Permanente Medical Center in San Francisco by the late Ben F. Feingold, M.D., pediatrician and Chief of Allergy. Dr. Feingold found that certain foods and food additives can trigger a variety of problems in sensitive people. The Feingold Foodlist and Shopping Guide is a book that lists brand name products that have been researched by the Feingold Association and represented by the manufacturer as being acceptable for the Program. All types of foods are listed.

Zweigle?s white hotdogs have long had a cult following among residents of and visitors to Rochester, New York who recognize Zweigle?s hotdogs as being beyond comparison to any other hotdogs on the market. Visitors to Rochester routinely lug coolers packed with Zweigle?s hotdogs home with them, beg their family and friends to ship them across America, and now are ordering online at www.white-hots.com for next-day shipments across the fifty states and Puerto Rico.

Zweigle?s white hotdogs do not have sodium nitrite added (thus their white color). Why is this important? Company president and co-founder Nicholas Capanna states: “While, we are not scientists or physicians, it’s our understanding that sodium nitrite and/or nitrate consumption may cause allergic reactions for some people. Moreover, chronic consumption of high levels of such food additives may cause serious health problems including cancers.”

In 1880, C. Wilhelm Zweigle and his wife Josephine opened a small sausage shop in Rochester, New York. That was the humble beginning of what would lead five generations of family to dedicate their lives to making Zweigle?s a Rochester institution. In 1925, Zweigle?s, Inc. introduced their first white hotdog product, which created quite a local buzz.

And, in the generations since, Rochestarians have made the Zweigle?s white hotdog not only a favorite food but also a source of local pride (and one they were perfectly content to secretly enjoy as a benefit of living in their city by Lake Ontario while lesser red wieners became America?s favorite food with an unknowing American public.

The survival and growth of Zweigle?s Inc. from a small sausage shop into a multi-million dollar company nearly 125 years old is a testament to the Zweigle?s family, their sensational innovation of America?s favorite food, and their dedication to old-fashioned quality and wholesomeness in a world of mass merchandised inferior franks.

With local buyers never being able to get enough Zweigle?s hotdogs, the company has until now been content to focus its energies on making the finest hotdogs in the world while keeping its world-class products a best-kept secret of Rochester, New York.

Get Fit AND Stay Fit … It’s Really Not That Difficult

For many people the idea of getting fit and in shape means endless hours sweating away in a gym. Believe me, it really doesn?t have to be like that. Read on ?

? As we all know, a very important factor of your plan towards living a longer and healthier life focuses on your physical health. Simply put, you have to get fit and stay fit.

Many of the points illustrated here are also related to dieting, this is because exercise and nutrition go hand in hand for reaching your goal to ultimate health. So, what?s the key?

Moderation, Moderation, Moderation

First off, being fit and in shape isn?t as difficult as you might believe. Yes, you will need dedication and willingness to reach your goals, but you?ll get there. You can be sure of that. As with most issues in life, and fitness is no exception: ?If you don?t apply the rules, you don?t get the results.? It?s really that simple. So, with that said let?s take a look at what a sensible exercise plan should look like, what kind of results you can expect, and how much time it?s going to take you.

You do have some luck, as with getting fit and loosing weight we have a number of scientific tools that tell us some very important information, such as:

- How long will it take me to loose 5 pounds in body weight?
- How hard should I actually workout to get results?
- How many calories can I expect to burn each workout?

Everybody would love the magic pill or a magic piece of training equipment where you don?t have to work hard and break into a sweat, but after just 5 minutes you start to look like Mr. Universe. Sad to say, but neither of these things exist. If you want health and fitness, and see the results, then you?re going to have to work for it. Sadly to say, there are no cutting corners.

By starting today, you can become fit, AND stay fit.

It has been proven that people who take part in a regular exercise program receive benefits far beyond being just fit and in control of their weight. They have leaner muscles, stronger bones, they have lower blood pressure, they generally sleep better, their hearts pump more efficiently, they tend to suffer less from stress and it has been suggested in scientific literature that they live longer. Aren?t these good reasons for getting in shape now?

You bet your bottom dollar they are!

The vast majority of people who want to loose weight start dieting, but this is only part of the battle, and on its own you will not be particularly happy with the results.

So why is exercise import? SIMPLE! Look ?

Let?s say you want to cut out 500 calories a day from your daily intake. A daily reduction of 500 calories might be too difficult for you ? and that is why so many people fail in reaching their goal. They set themselves goals that are too hard to reach. Don?t fall into that trap.

We know that a 3500-calorie reduction per week is needed to produce a one pound weight loss of fat. Therefore, a daily calorie reduction of approximately 500 ?1000 calories is necessary to loose 1 to 2 pounds of fat per week.

For instance, let?s say a portion of macaroni provides 250 calories per serving, and we all know how easy it is to eat a double serving of packaged foods, which would be 500 calories. Using the above example of 500 calories a day, if we don?t eat the macaroni we easily reach our daily goal, but we don?t eat!!! So, how do we manage this ?
We eat one portion (250 calories), and we exercise away the remaining 250 calories.

250 + 250 = 500.

Using the diet + exercise approach, it is easy to see how much easier it is to reach your goals. You really don?t have to starve. In the case above you can still eat your macaroni. Does that seem hard to you? I don?t think so.

A one-hour walk equals approximately 420 calories. A reduction of 500 calories a day means a one pound weight loss per week. Once you?re in shape, just look at uphill walking, that goes anywhere from 480 to 900 calories!

Are you feeling motivated yet? Doesn?t it seem easier now?

Just remember diet alone won?t really get you to where you want to go. Team diet together with an intelligent exercise routine and ? Whoa! You get fit AND it?s easy to stay fit!
